Ok on a cold morning or ever now again. My TR four cylinder wont rev correctly it will get stuck at 2000 rpm and wont budge even when i hit the floor boards with the accelerator pedal. Only way to make it rev and go faster is manual drop it into Low and shift through the gears. Happens when the car is cold or ever now again. Once the car is hot and at normal temperature she fine.
Second problem when it rains the car revs will drop for no reason and if i hit the accelerator it will go back to normal, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers Sparky

Don't worry, I'm going to sort it out myself *sigh. Think an issue with voltage as it only seem to happen when driving in the wet therefore I got wipers going, headlights and stereo. That lot is high current drain :)

yo sparky
i wouldnt think so. i have a high end sound system in my car and in the rain with highbeams on and the wipers going and the sound system on full ball its fine. and i just have a run of the mill battery. check that tho. you should be getting around a 13.8-14.4 volt charge to it. if not i would say its the alternator or regulator (if its changing rapidly). what i think is happening is that when it is raining (does it happen when you go though a puddle?) is you either have a leak somewhere that water is dripping onto the alternator wires (or other) and shorting them causing your battery to not get a good charge. also check the battery connectors i had a loose one that jiggled and my revs dropped like mad.

Cool, yeah she dried out only happen in a sever down pour lol But yeah I'm upgrading the ground, re routing my voltmeter pickup, keeping a rubber glove and Vaseline in the boot of the car. Wrap the dizzy up, I check dizzy no cracks but see how she goes next time with glove in place lol

shouldnt need that sparky. i have a suggestion for you.
find a rubber ring the same size as the dissy (or make one) and place it under the dissy cap so it seals?

Or you could run a thin bead of silicon around where the cap clips down wait for it to hardern then when you clip the cap down it seals
