Ive been offered a free set of LED's to light the aircon console and the gear lights next to the gear stick, I just need a photo of what bulbs are used or if anyone knows the type of led that would fit so I can pass it on and get them id appreciate it :)

I'm pretty sure they're either T5 or T10's. Searching will provide you the right answers, I'd search for you but I'm on my way out.
they are T5 leds in this area, same with the ashtray and cigi light

The one thing I didn't like when I had blue LED's in (I have white, red, and also blue LED's) is that they don't show red, so you can't see the redline and everything is the same colour. Before I get a verada blackout cluster, I'm going to try disassembling the entire cluster, and placing cellophane or something else coloured to change the colour of the dials but retain the intensity and overall better white LED's.
When I did red, it just looked dull and shitty. Or maybe that was because 10 red SMD bulbs cost me 5 bucks on eBay... ;)

theres one hot spot in left of AC where you select where the air is going to, thats because of where the light comes in the back to the right of the dial.
there was 2 T5 LEDs for that, but needed 3 for the oil/batter etc alerts and 1 for cigarette light.
not sure how to get to gear stick lights yet :S

You can remove the gear stick surround (the one you have to remove has part of getting to the head unit) and if you reach under the back side of the selector, just under the top lip somewhere, are two wires going into the unit. You can twist it I think (similar to the A/C lights, rotate it about 45 degrees, and it frees up) and pull it all out to reveal a single t10 bulb.
Now I feel I should mention that the magnas use a crap aqua colour piece of plastic to give the PRND32L figures the colour, the bulb is the normal white colour. If you go and put a white LED in, the PRNDetc will just be a brighter aqua. What I did is removed the top of the selector, and removed this piece of plastic. However the LED was too bright (my one actually illuminated the AC controls through the now see-through PRND characters. And the output was splotchy. I Fixed this by a) using tinfoil to "cup" the light and refract it, like a parabolic headlight in a way, upwards, and b) 3 layers of believe it or not, A4 paper to lower the brightness, give it a white appearance, and to increase the fire risk greatly :P. my selector is now full white, properly illuminated, and looks fairly good compared to my dodgy AC illumination..

yeah Ive removed the top plastic bit like in the start of this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MaWhsQYsnrs but I cant feel the 2 wires :S I'll have to try during day and see how blue looks with the aqua strip.

Put your head down, almost in the centre console, and use a torch to shine in there, you should see them. Otherwise you could have a look at the service manual, and take the whole top of the selector off, and access it that way.

What kind of LED's did you use? Can you take a photo of one, or source a picture of what you used?

Ah, not interested in buying them, curious as to the kind of LED. It's fairly strange, the light output from the gear selector LED.
EDIT: Also, there is only one t10 bulb illuminating the shifter letters, which you replaced. Unless there was one that I didn't see :\

Id describe them as being flat, 4 small squares just facing straight on. I think the angle makes it only get half of the L not sure whats with the N must be something to do with the strip?

What sort of lights would I need for the cabin light and boot light?

IIRC they both use a festoon light. Just do an Ebay search for SMD festoon light and you will get what looks like a square piece of material with LEDs, with a connector for the socket. But unless you buy a light with 50 LED's on it, not much light comes out of mine in the boot, due to the white cover, though the cabin light is good. I'm going to install an LED strip and mount it to the top of the boot (not on the actual boot lid, but the boot roofing).
