Just wondering if anyone knows if there is a reason or why the handbreak light comes on and stays on sometimes when i corner and my wheels spin?

Possibly the wire in the switch under the console is loose. I think you can check it by removing the bin in the console. Cheers Shaun

The handbrake light on the TE Altera I had was allways on, drove me mental. I tried playing with the slitch under the console but didn't have any luck...

the hand brake light switch is an earth switch.
It could be either something is bent and the hand brake is not pushing the switch down properly
or the switch is broken
or the wire is making contact with earth some where under the console or behind the dash.

the light can also refer to the brake fluid being too low or other brake problems.

As Clarion Magna said, check your brake fluid and the switch there as this would account for this sort of problem
