Hey guys, i know the sort of question i'm about to ask gets asked a lot, and i have used the search function and google to try and find an answer to no avail :tired: and i can't get my head around wheel offset and fitment so im gonna see if someone on here can help me out. I'm looking at a set of rims that have these specs..

SIZE: 18x8.5
PCD: 5x114.3
ET: 30
CB: 73.1

...Now my question is, Can someone please tell me if these will fit on my KE Verada and sit even remotely flush with the guards.. I'm sorry if these type of questions piss some people off but this is a last resort becasue i can't find anyone on the net who has a magna/verada/diamante with that perfect offset im after. If they were close i could pump the guards slightly.. and the guard lips will be rolled.

These would definately sit just past the front guards. Rolling the lip would not be enough the guard itself would need to be flared. The rear may not have the same problem depending on your rear cambers.

well that kinda sucks... what would the perfect offset be for a KE verada? i wish i understood all this wheel fitment stuff..

I'm trying to find something similar to Koyo Drift teks..

ET 35 max, with a little neg. camber. Do a Google search....plenty of diagrams to explain off-set etc.

There's a few members with 8.5" wide rims on a +38 offset without major modification. I reckon if you experimented with camber settings and tyre sizes, and were prepared to roll/flare guards, there's a reasonable chance you could get it to work.

Maybe it'd be worth test fitting some other member's wheels just to see what you thought of the fitment? If you know their offset and width, I'm sure you could guesstimate your preferred rim.

I guess it all depends on how serious you want to go? I run 18x8" with a +38 offset and around -1° camber all round. The front wheels are nearly in line with the guards (the tyres are though) and the rears sit in a little. It's not JDM-esque, but I'm happy - plus I would never run serious camber as I don't want to prematurely end the life of $1200+ of tyres.

offset only effects clearance of tyre. the wheel itself will fit fine. with 235 tyre gout need to aggressively roll your guards. with 225 you can get away with minimal rolling of the guards with that offset but you won't really be able to go superlow or lower.

Tyres arent so much of a probem because i'll be running a bit of stretch so they should clear and ill roll and flare the guards a tad if need be, as long as the rims sit flush with guards ill be happy :)

to run stretch you'll need 215 or thinner lol on an 8.5, that's getting very thin.

Looks like ill have to go wider then haha.. honestly though i dont mind putting a bit of work into the guards to get the exact look i want, so going wider is not a big issue. Wheels are expensive so unless its exactly what i want i just wont bother with them.. I think it just gonna take a lot of patience, planning and trying other peoples rims :)

That's exactly it.

Apart from wookie and Cummins - who had Magnas they raced, and had the suspension to match - I think Hayden and his Ralliart would be the first car on AMC to really push wheel and tyre fitment. So if you really want a JDM look, it's going to be a lot of trial and error.

tzaboys ralliart had 18x9.5 too but his had 245 on them! absolute limit of what you can fit pretty much.

FYI we managed to fit 19x8.5 ET34 with 235 rubber today with no major issues, just a tiny bit of scrubbing on the back, rolling guards will resolve this.

They won't fit your car, well they will but they will stick 2cm past your front guards and 1 past your rear.

with flared guards they should.. i'll do what has to be done to get the look im after. I found the specs in your build thread anyway, i looked on the rota site any theyre out of stock but there should be somewhere else to get them.

Out of stock? impossible... They got their shipment early this month and i got the first set of these for the year. Ring them (rota au or Vision R) Same company.. or go through WheelTech in dandenong victoria, the girl there is very helpful. They Had Hyper Black, Gloss black, Sports bronze, Gunmetal grey and White last time i saw.

No problem, yeah the site is very inaccurate, when i looked they didn't even list hyper black as an available colour.

So how do they fit on yours without rubbing on the guards - on the rear in particular?

guards are same but the wheels on his will stick out a long way. might look good but will attract police i think

I mean how do they fit on yours without rubbing? My wheels/tyres are much more conservative than yours, but I've been having clearance problems (just need to add a little more negative camber) - how on earth do you stop your wheels/tyres from hitting on the guards over bumps?

The police around here are faily relaxed, unless theres a defect blitz on.. which is when i stay off the road.. ive had other cars that would attract a lot more attention from cops but they would never hassle me, just RBT, check my rego and let me go.

Hopefully i can flare the guards out enough to sit it flush, otherwise ill just get some metal overfenders welded and smoothed and go all out VIP shiiieeeet!... haha

235 rubber and +35 offset rubbed on the flares over big bumps but then i cut each flare and they don't hit anymore. my guards are also rolled but im not sure if this was needed on king lows.
