Hey Everyone,

New to the forum as i am after some help with my 1997 TF Magna.

A few weeks ago i started hearing a squeaking noise coming from my front right Tyre area, it happens over about 15-20km/h and upwards. It is not affected by any braking so i am ruling out that it is squeaking brakes. Its not a constant squeak too its as if it is happening every time the wheel rotates.
The noise does disappear if i am turning right at any degree however it doesn't disappear at a left hand turn unless it is a 90 degree or more turn.

I was trying to find the answer on here of what it could be and i am narrowing it down to Wheel Bearing or i think i read somewhere steering bush.

What does it sound like the problem is? And how big and expensive is the job if i choose to repair it myself.

Thanks

Jack the car up and check for play by wiggling the wheel left/right/up/down. Play = wheel bearing. It could be as simple as a rubbing dust shield.

i had the same issue not long back, and it turned out being one of my brake pads had decided to go for a ball of $&!%... keeping in mind that i'd travelled 70000km on those pads (and perhaps had another 15,000 to go on the other 3... approx 3mm)

Did as you said life and jacked it up and no wiggle at all. So i took the wheel off and the caliper and gave everything a wipe down to make sure there was no dust, then i gave it a shot with the hose to clean it all out. Took it for a test run and no noise.
Only reason i ruled this out was because a few weeks ago i took all the wheels off and gave them a good clean out and assumed it wouldn't build back up this quick.

Thankfully its a free fix this time.

Thanks for the help guys. :)
