New here (a couple months) its extremely useful as I have found heaps of helpful tips to keep my car going a little longer. But in an attempt to replace the fuel filter on my very worn out and very standard TE, I broke the inlet to fuel filter both the housing and the clip. I think I only lost a quarter of a tank of fuel as I chose to ignore the excellent info regarding taking pressure out of line(not again). Anyway..... any advice on getting & installing a new inlet fitting would be greatly appreciated

Trace the line back to the next junction, undo it, replace it with one from a wrecker or a Mitsu dealer.

I'm surprised you lost that much fuel, unless you left the tank pressurised. The trick is to back off the fuel filler cap so that vapour pressure in the tank doesn't push petrol down the line. That's the theory anyway, haven't done this job myself.

Thanks! And due to fuel in eyes and ears I may have exaggerated quantity slightly but my dad always said "never let the truth ruin a good tale"
