what's the easiest way to get power to the ciggy lighter in the dash when the Ignition is at 'Lock' and the key is out of the car?

The easiest way would be to tap into the constant 12V wire that leads into your stereo to the positive connection in the cigi lighter. However if you plan to use something that takes alot of current from your cigi lighter then this may overload the circuit with both the stereo and your accessory

Otherwise just run a direct line to the positive battery terminal and positive cigi cable. Easy as pie :D

Is the stereo constant? I thought it cut out after an hour.

Stereo has one constant and one from your ignition.

Needs a constant for clock and the 1 hour keyless play

I've been looking at the handbook and I noticed that the trunk opener (powered when key is out of ignition) is a 15amp fuse and is in the in-car fuse box along with the cigarette lighter (also 15 amp fuse) - so I might try running a shunt wire across the back of those two - should be easier than pulling the console apart!

Ever considered tapping into the car phone socket located under the cup holders in the centre console? I believe this has a constant power supply also and would probably make wiring a lot easier given the close proximity to the cig lighter? :confused:
