My car was parked and he smashed the rear right tail light and put a nice dent running down the same corner of the bumper. The guy has insurance so i wont have to pay anything but i was curious what a tail light is worth and a bumper. Do you think they would get a new bumper or try and fix it?

Also the D in the indicator display in the dash wont light up all the rest of the grears light up. any one else ever had this is it a globe behind it that lights it up if so does that need to be replaced?

thanks for the hlp

Well, who's the idiot who parked behind the idiot who reversed into ya? Just kidding. In fact that sounds so familiar.....same thing happen to my last car which was a TE as well. But only the corner of the back bumper was pushed in. Because it's only plastic it was be heated and pushed out but sometimes the plastic can split...after that a new paint job. Cost for the fix and paint was $250.
As for the globe for the D light, it's blown and need a new one...about $10

if you reach a stage where you might need new rear /front bumper go for the VRX bumpers :)

In regard to the 'D' light not lighting up on the dash when in drive, this issue came up on the forum about a year ago. To the best of my knowledge it should not light up when in drive. The only time it ever lights up is when your car has a problem and when this happens it will flash on and off to warn you to take it to a service centre.

Unless I am losing it, I swear my 'D' light comes on when I am in Drive!?!

The Vrx front and rear are only skirts that fit over the standard bumpers (at least the ones on SSV are) so it your rear bumper is stuffed you're still gonna need to but a new stock one

If the one on your dash (not just the one on the auto level cluster) comes on when your driving, maybe I'm wrong, but I was sure that when this issue last came up on the forum nobody's 'D' light came on in their cars

yeah I agree with magnaman. The N light will start blinking when the transmission starts to overheat, then blinks at a different rate when there's an even wor$e problem.

yea im pretty sure the d is meant to light up im sure it did before but now it dosnt. So what sorta globe do you need to replace it and when you have the globe i suppose you have to take the dash apart?

about the cost it can vary coz when i crashed my mums car  it cost more coz the panelbeater replaced the whole bumper instead of just heating it and popping it back out, and we had a family friend look at it before it went into another panelbeaters (my dads company go through some guy that the do business for) and he said yeah thats definitely just gonna need to be popped back out and shouldn't cost much, i was shocked when the bill came as i had to pay for it..so if i were you i'd get it checked first and make sure they dont replace the whole bumper if they dont need to as the guy we knew said some panelbeaters prefer to just replace the bumper than pop them back out :doubt:
