I bought this magna only a month ago. And about a week ago my cd/radio just started messing up. The buttons sometimes work and sometimes not. It paused itself. And sometimes I press the channel or track change and instead the volume changes. But then it works fine at other times. Has anyone had this happen to them or know what the issue might be.?? I'm thinking I might need to replace it. If I were would I be able to replace it with a 380 stereo system?

Sounds like the unit is starting to become faulty
Best option would be to grab a JVC deck if your not really into upgrading your audio as they are best bang for buck really
But if you want some more features then let us know so we can reccomend something for you
The 380 stereo will not suit your car as its intergrated into one not seperate like in your car

Welcome to the club.
The problem with your radio is probably age related, 8 years is not a bad life span for a car radio.
You could try checking the fuse, check aerial connection, try playing commercial CDs instead of home made ones, etc, but seeing radio/CD players are now so cheap and much more capable - mp3, ipod connectivity, aux input, etc - why not treat yourself to a new one?

A 380 head unit, if you could find one, only really works in a 380 due to the way it is mounted in the car and the CANBUS system. Give that idea a miss.

mine did the same, just bought a new cd player and a wiring loom adaptor fixed it :D

The single disc 2 din 380 unit (fitted to the base models) should be plug & play... but not the integrated changer as others have mentioned.

The 380 ES series MP3 single disk player is plug and play into any Magna, will plug straight in and will mount straight in. This is a very popular conversion, I have sold many of these.

The JVC is also a great alternative, feature packed in the upper end models and I have always used the JVC in my cars which have had the oem units removed

I have never changed over a stereo before. Would it be a difficult task.? Also if I were to go to a wreckers and get the same stereo would that be a good option.? I would however like something with more features than the TL. What features does the 380 ES single disc player have? Thanks
