hey guys,

I have access to a fair range of used/repaired cadence audio through a mate. Was looking to upgrade to some of it and was wondering what i should look at. To give you an idea i can get a 1000w monoblock for around $120.

Looking to just go sub and mono for now and slowly work my way up. Any info would be great.

And no, dont say "Dont get that get this". I can get all the cadence gear cheap and my mate can repair it all for cost.

Cheers,

Sean

Can you test it? Its like saying "how long is a piece of string", depending on what other funds you have available, and what music you listen to it may or may not be suitable.

Cadence especially the lower end stuff is by no means and high quality brand, not to say they don't produce good stuff, just that its no recognized as one of the industry leaders, but as the price of their gear in comparison to competitors you wouldn't expect them to.

TBH ive found if buying retail there is better stuff out of there for the money but you just need to look hard for it, buying second hand otherwise is my preferred option because you can save alot of money.

So in the situation, if it works it will do a job that most will be happy with, but if you can listen to it first its must preferred. Keeping in mind if the sub comes with a prefab box, the box may be too small, or may be too large so this will affect volume aswell. If you can trust your mate, you don't have too much to lose.

My impression of Cadence is that they make gear at a range of price points and quality - there's the lower end stuff, and the (relatively) more expensive gear... the Xenith series is the more entry level AFAIK. If you could get access to the level above that (? maybe visit the Cadence website for their range) I'm sure there could be some gear worth auditioning. See if you can find some online reviews.

Those Cadence subs I showed you sound awesome in the 380, I would definitely recommend them.

i had the Xenith Cadence Mono block and four chan at one stage to power subs.

they for one, look great at night with the light up led behind the logo.
they did work quite well for me and had a power output that easily powered anything hooked up to it.
another good thing about them is the fan at the back, it does help A LOT to keep it cool, ive never had any other amp that has been able to stay as cool as that one did, but it can be a bit noisy at times.

only downsides are, the mounting of the amps, due to the fan, you almost have to always use the stands to mount it.
second is the power issue, when i used them, they did cause more drain on my battery (lights dimming) compared to other amps that are of the same power. (might just be something in my car, but no other amps do it)

i have no expierance with their subs, but their amps i had use for quite a while and never had any problems that would stop me from buying them again
