hey guys i believe my auto box may be on its way out as when shifting from 2-3 (around the 40km mark) it does a hard shift. but my car has only done 45,000kms....werid? was also bought of my girlfriends grandmother, so its orginal kms. any ideas what it could be if its not the box. also are there any other cars manual gearboxs that will fit a TE v6? or does anyone have a conversion kit there selling

Have you changed the fluid on it? If it's got 45,000km on it, there's a fair chance it's never been changed, despite being ~15 years old - I believe the factory recommendation is every 50,000km. I aim to change mine every 18 months / 25,000km or so.
I would change the fluid, relearn the auto (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86194) and go from there.

yea it just had a service at 42,000 i believe i bought the car at 37,000. will try the auto relearn tomorrow and see how it goes cheers. any chance the box could have suffered from me going slighty hard from 2-3 to simulate a manual shift?

also i noticed that it does a bad shift only while changing from 2-3 i believe (around 40km/h) but if i build the revs up to 3k or above changing from 2-3 there is no issues

I believe I have answered most of these questions via PM lol
A person who has only done a couple thousand k's per year will do more damage to a car than a car driven more often, cars do not wear well when only driven on the occasional short trip
Only a Magna box will fit, I have 3 kits here ready to go at the moment

My TW (80k on the clock) started doing rough 2-3 shifts around 40k and a re-learn fixed it. It's worth a try.
