Sticker bombing is becoming more and more common in the JDM scene and I am a bit of a fan, and I have considered doing this to my dash. Plan is to buy a second hand dash and go from there, just in case I change my mind.
Aquring the stickers is the easy bit you can even buy books of them, but I would want a nice clear coat on top to have that nice smooth feel. This will be my 1st time messign with this sort of thing, so i am unaware how I will achieve this I was thinking I would need a varnish...
Any help or ideas would be great :>

Personally I'm not a fan but if you're doing this to a spare dash and therefore it's easily removed/replaced if you change your mind or need to sell the car, then I guess why not - go for it.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It's what you like that counts.
One thing to keep in mind is the clearance between dash parts is very thin. Even with just paint I have noticed some gaps between parts are now almost non-existent, so with stickers & some kind of clear coat on top, you could have a tight fit when re-installing.
Do a test spray to make sure your spray paint solvents don't
-dissolve the sticker ink
-dissolve the sticker glue and have them curl up
-dissolve the whole sticker completely
You could try a thin coat of epoxy if you can find one runny enough, it should be a bit less solventy. With the panel gaps, give it a good sand and evenly remove 1/2 a mm of plastic before you start.

Might as well buy a pink Micra with the handbag option and put some fluffy toys on your dash :P

Try using some very thin epoxy. Ask at the paint shop in Bunnings. They should be able to find you one suitable. They can also test a spot for you to make sure it doesn't kill the ink (which it likely will)
Most inks will crap themselves when exposed to epoxy resin.. This can be cured by sealing the ink using a craft glue or something similar before hand, making sure to includes any edges that may absorb the resin.
