Hey guys...
My partner has a 96 te Magna...the key won't turn to the acc position...it has been stubborn for about a week and how it won't turn at all,so I am going to get a replacement barrel and key..
The key it has now is just a basic key,no buttons or chip to my knowledge...
If I replace the barrel,is that all that is required to fix the problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

The key has a transponder inside it.if you change the barrel you will either need to get the key coded to suit the car or cut the transponder out of the key and tape it onto the new barrel so the key works. then also the key won't match all the other locks on the car either unless you get a full set.
