Has anyone fitted an after market central locking system to their TR TS at all? I bought a cheap kit from SuperCheap Auto yesterday and I'm not really sure what I am doing.

I'm thinking about getting someone out to do it can anyone tell me how long and roughly how much to fit it?

I live on the Gold Coast if that is a help.

Yup I've done it & so have a few others.

I've got some pictures floating around that may be of help as to where you can mount everything if you like.
Just set aside a Saturday & you shouldn't have any issues, whether you've taken the trim off before or not.

Just so you know whats involved, you will have to take all four door trims off (5 minutes each really), bits of the under dash which won't take long either.
Then you'll have to run the cables to each of the doors & into the wiring conduit...
Then mount the solenoids on the door and hook up the wires.
The only things you'll really have to do is find a constant +12V power source & ground for the main unit, which you then need to mount somewhere (normally just somewhere in your dash near the +12V & ground).

Anyway, I'm off to search for pictures, hope this helps.

Yep done mine.

It's a pain in the butt... But the best thing I ever did to the Magna.

Worth every last scrapped knuckle :bowrofl:

What are you having trouble with buddy?

i did mine as well. The wirings pretty easy to do and putting the actuators in the front doors is easy enuf but i found the back doors a bit harder. It sort of depends on how good you are with that kind of stuff as too how long. It took me a bit over half a day when i did it on my car. IM sure its easier once youve done it before but have a try of it yourself. Nothing better than working on ones car and feeling the satisfaction of completing a job. no matter how small.
