Hi all

I have a TL VRX and was just wondering if anyone has had this problem. While driving along the first light that lights up is the Battery light then all of a sudden all the lights will flash on and off and the aircon will stop working while this is going on, then all of a sudden the lights will go off, the aircon turns back on and all is fine until it does it all again minutes later. It doesn't do it all the time its kind of just a random thing, any idea what could be causing this?

battery light indicates over/under charging, do you feel the car begin to stall when this happens? Is it more noticeable coming to a stop? Or when taking off?

Either way I'd head to somewhere like autobarn who will give you a free battery/charging system test. Sounds like a dodgy alternator, and if left can cause serious damage if it is overcharging.

Dads kj was doing the exact same thing, turned out it was the alternator. Replaced it and it fixed it

It is the alternator, get it replaced asap before you end up with more damage or end up stranded

thanks heaps guys, I'm getting the alternator checked out tomorrow and hopefully replaced, got a long trip ahead of me on Saturday so can't afford my car to break down on me especially with a 6 month old in the car. Cheers guys will let you all know if the problem stops but def sounds like it's the Alternator.

Yep. If you did a search on here you would have found numerous threads including one I posted a while ago. My lights did not cut out, they did the reverse and blinded on-coming traffic by going majorly bright.
