ok guys im half way through and engine swap but need a little help..

i have a AWD trans and motor on the floor in the shed and im trying to remove the trans. the problem is to get to the last bell housing bolt the whole transfer case has to be removed. i have removed all the bolts and have managed to ease the transfer case about 3-4cm out but then it wont go any further?? what am i doing wrong??is there something iv missed? iv looked at my downloaded copy of the workshop manual and it just refers to undoing the 6 bolts and removing the transfer case.

any tips would be muchley appreciated..
thanks Mossy.

Is simple, you remove both drive shafts, remove the transfer case shaft from the LHS side of the car, slides out where the drive shaft was. You need a slide hammer with a thread on the end 8 x 1.25mm

Once done, undo the 6 bolts, gently pry across and out she comes

Make sure you have pushed the case back home before you remove the shaft, it does show you in the manual how to remvoe that shaft as well
