Hi all,

I just purchased a TL magna which has a snapped antenna that will obviously need to be replaced. I know these can be super expensive but was just thinking for the sake of future-proofing the car I might get a DAB+ compatible antenna. Are these readily available? Apparently the 'window sticker' antennas that come with digital head units are rubbish.

I don't mind if the antenna is not electronic - in fact either way - DAB+ or not - can I replace the existing power antenna with a manual one? And is it a relatively simple job for someone with basically no mechanical experience? Really not keen on dropping $150+ to have someone replace it for me.

Thanks guys!

okay so I have looked into it some more and I think I won't bother with the DAB+ head unit. So just after a regular antenna, and looks like I can just replace the mast? So that's just a ~$30 part right? Sorry, I'd delete this thread now if I could but can't work out how :/

i was curious about those DAB+ head units (were popular about 10 years ago!) would they pick up these digital radio stations that are finally available?

Digital radios are all you can buy in terms of home radios these days......

they sure would, provided you had a DAB+ antenna (regular car antennas are not capable of recieving a digital signal) and you lived in one of the seven cities they are currently broadcasting in.
