was changing my door cards today while listening to the radio in the car - yeh that was dumb

anyway pretty sure i have blown the fuse to the power windows

is the fuse the 40A medium sized blue fuse under the bonnett?
mine looks ok so im not sure if this is the correct fuse

my car is missing the fuse map on the box cover lid

has anyone blown this fuse before?
will it be just that fuse or are others on the same circut? i read somewhere about interior lights
and windows sharing a fuse - my interior light has never worked so its hard to tell

Ummm this may seem an incredibly basic & stupid question but did you check that the battery is not flat?

Car starts drives etc
None of the windows work anymore
So I'm guessing fuse or short
Happened when I was doing the drivers door trim had to disconnect the window master controller cleaned the connectors with some contact cleaner. Now none of the windows work

Did you plug the switches back in when you put the door cards back on?

Yes all switches in

If there is an issue with the Master Switch you will have no windows, check that the plug is seated all the way

i think this is the case

i just went and got another 40A fuse
and still no window activity

there is a seriously dirty /rusty connector in the plug to the master switch
but prior to unplugging it this morning it had worked flawlessly

is there anyway to test the master switch before i shell out for a replacement

Pull out a multimeter and test the pins on the master window harness/plug. According to the manual - the blue wire is for power. So hook up the multimeter to that wire and see if its getting 12v or not.

Ill try this when the rain stops.

So can someone confirm that the blue medium sized 40a fuse under the bonnet is for the power windows???

Also is there anyway to return the windows to the up position can u run power from a battery direct to the door? To get them up

How did you go with your windows?
I have the same problem with my TL, for some reason they all stopped working at the same time. Checked all fuses and replaced just incase and also relay with no success.

I have this problem too! anyone work out a solution
