Hi, just wondering if anyone has written a guide to replacing the head gaskets and installing the cambelt on a 6G74 engine as I do not have a repair manual. It is in a TH Magna. Thanks! (Have searched, can't seem to find to what im looking for)

Not sure why you'd want to replace the headgaskets (they apparently rarely fail) but can understand the cambelt.....a 2nd hand complete motor in good order can be had very cheaply - like under $500.

unless your motor is low k's, i'd just chuck a second hand motor in! Quicker and easier than doing headgasket swaps...

Agree! I did it 2-3 years ago and never looked back. Mine started blowing a lot of smoke and all the seals started to give way, so getting a 60k motor installed for $1k was the cheapest option.

Thanks ammerty for the workshop manual download, much appreciated. Thanks to everyone for their replys and advice, I believe one of the head gaskets have gone as it uses its water and pressurizes the cooling system very quickly (from not being started in a few days, after 30sec of running and a few revs un-doing the radiator cap will throw a large amount of water out). I will now look into putting a new engine in it as it has done right on 300,000km.
