Recently had an overheat due to thermostat seizure. Replaced the stat but having problems with idling and shift pattern during warm up. Can anyone tell me where the coolant temperature sensor for the ECU (not the temp gauge transmitter) is located on the 4 cyl TS EFI engine. On the V6 it is obvious. On the 4 ??????? Is it the sensor in the bottom tank of the radiator with a duel purpose of triggering the thermo fan??????
Pleeeaaassseee! :hmm:

Three sensors.
one on the bottom of the radiator -temp sensitive on/off switch for fans.
one near the thermostat - temp gauge on dash.
one on the intake manifold, underneath it really - sends coolant temp info to ECU.

Somebody flame me if that's wrong, it's been a while since I worked on a lowly 4 cylinder Magna motor. lol

Thank you MM. I'll check it out upon the morrow. Never thought to look under the manifold. Sixty years experience on cars, trains, boats and planes and never looked under the manifold. Must be ... No i'm not.....:hmm::hmm::hmm::hmm: Not yet anyway.
