Hey guys
I cleaned my throttle body today and after reinstalling everything I now get a really high idle on start up (2500rpm) and then it goes down to 1500 rpm when in park, if put into D it goes to 1000rpm but this is still high. I have also noticed now while driving that when i slow down the car, it will jump forward and just keep rolling if the brake is not fully applied ( e.g if on a flat surface and i brake completely, once i let go off the brake the car will just start to accelerate a bit on its on and just keep going).
I did have a lot of trouble getting the O ring back into the ISC motor and it may not be in place but could that cause this?

Any air leak in the intake system will cause a high idle, as the ECU just dumps in fuel according to the air flow. "O" ring on ISC may be letting air in and causing the high idle. If its the only thing you did to the car before the idle went high, that's the most likely cause.
Get another "O" ring from Mitsu and do it again.
Or you haven't plugged something like the oil return back into the intake pipe, but even a hole that big wouldn't really cause such drastic idling (I've done it before).. Throttle cable has more tension on it than before causing butterfly to remain partly open?

could someone tell me how to get an O ring from mitsubishi? Or would a gasket maker do the trick?

Walk into the nearest dealership's parts counter, and ask for one.
If anyone knows the dimensions of the "O" ring, any bearing shop can sell you one. Perhaps $1?

do you reckon autobarn would have them?
And what about the gasket maker stuff, do you reckon that would work?

Common issue with my old 99 Galant try disconnecting the battery and let the computer reset. If the throttle body was bad the comp may still be using these settings by letting it reset it might just sort it out. Or so it worked for the Galant

They come in all shapes and sizes so I doubt autobarn would have one on the shelf. Repco might be able to order one in for you or perhaps you could buy online
