hey guys...
i have an issue with my partners te magna 3.0 auto...
last night the electrics seemed to power down..basically the dash lights, headlights all faded really badly, and the wipers were really slow..and not only did the stereo actually turn off but the blinkers didnt have enough power to work either...
i got the car home, turned it off and when i tried to restart it it was as dead as a maggot..
is it likely to be the alternator??
if so,are they hard to fit for a novice??
cheers guys

Probably the battery has died - mine died totally at the tip and had to grab an old one from their pile of old batteries. Bloke at the tip said most of the batteries they get nowdays are no more than a few years old and that they generally fail internally and all of a sudden.

The electrics don't run off the battery when the car has started so I reckon the alternator is not charging. As for batteries, both my OEM and replacement maintenance free ones died sudden deaths just shy of 3 years.
