Morning all! Hoping to get something for this when I attempt to trade it in tomorrow. Any thoughts on approximate trade-in value. It's registered (for 2 more weeks), in reasonable condition. Runs well, slight dent in one door panel, driver-side window mechanism stuffed. I'm a second owner. Bought it from my old bosses grandma at 50000km. Only put 48,000 on it myself in about 6 years. I don't have service history, etc. If the dealer doesn't want it, is my best bet to take it to a Mitsubishi wrecker?

4 banger or 6?
These cars need to be in mint condition for a dealer to sell for the 2-3k mark.
Trade in will be 2-500 bucks, depending on markup on the car you are buying. They'll likely just sell it to a wrecker at cost price anyway to get the sale on the new car.
If you can sell it priveately, you should get 1k pretty easily if it is in roadworthy condition.

Thanks for the reply. It's a 4 cylinder. The car I'm keen to buy is going for $27650 drive away, and given the Magna only has 2 weeks rego left, I'm pretty keen to relinquish it quickly. I think I'll try and get them to take it off my hands for $650, given I'm buying a new car. If they don't want to touch it at all, I'll ring around the Melbourne Mitsubishi wreckers and see how I go.

Does it drive well (engine / gearbox etc)? Thats very low KM for the car, would be a shame to let wreckers kill it, I'm sure someone would buy it

How good is it, what features does it have, what have you done to it, how close to a roadie is it, auto or manual?

Somebody will buy it. I'm also interested in it if it's a manual. If so, where in VIC are you?
What car are is about to replace it?

Hey mate, I am a dealer. No one will want it with no Rego and power window stuffed. It is worth upto $200 real value as a trade. If there is a good margin in the car you are looking at the figures can be shuffled around to make the trade look like 500-1000. But real figures a few hundred if that. Thats from are big yard like Toyota, Mitsubishi, Holden etc etc. It's going to depend on what yard you go to also. Small yard with cheapies they won't want at all.
If you can be bothered to mess with it just trade it, if you want to mess around a little go get a pink slip and chuck iron eBay or gumtree. If you put it on for. $500 it should sell in a few days. $999 it might take a bit longer. Don't think it's worth advertising it or more that $999.
Feel free to drop me a PM if ya got any questions.
