Hi guys, Sorry to create a new thread and i hope this hasn't already been covered.
Looking at getting an OBD2 scanner of eBay, for the 380.
Not wanting to spend more than $50 or so...
Anyone got any recommendations or past experiences as to which one i should go for?
Also whats the software like? Or should i try and find another one on the net and hope it will it work with these scanners?
Also what one should i go for. Got a mac running bootcamp with windows 7, tossing up whether to go for a USB one or bluetooth!

Sorry for the 20 questions lol. Any help will be much appreciated.
Anthony.

I use "DashCommand" app on iPhone or iPad

It is also available for Android and pc

Tried a few connectors - wifi, bluetooth but hard wired cable is most reliable

http://www.palmerperformance.com/products/dashcommand/index.php

Cable is on Amazon with some interesting comparison of some software packages, but Amazon says US shipping only

My cable came direct form GoPoint

:happy:Wow! I didn't know this stuff was out there, does it come close to the old Mutt II? I used to think that was great 14 years ago (last time I worked in a Mitsu Dealership) Looks like for under $100 I could get a new toy and pair it with my wife's Samsung SIIhttp://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/images/smilies/happy.gif

Even Happier!

Daughter borrowed car today, came back all worried cos CEL was on

Took 30 seconds to read 2 faults ( lean idle bank 1 and bank 2 ) and clear them

Last LPG tune 3 weeks ago I got them to lean the then very rich idle via the piggy back LPG ECU.

Will monitor to see if I this is just a one off or tune needs to be refined

A whole lot cheaper than a MUT III visit to the dealer!

Hi,

I am wanting to know whether OBD2 fits with Mitsubishi Magna Wagon TH 1999. I bought OBD2 scanner from ebay but it doesn't work and the seller suspected that my car uses OBD1, not OBD 2, need for your help.
Thanks

The Magna is not OBD2 compliant - rather it uses MUTII. While the plug appears the same as the OBD2, they're not compatible.

Thanks for sharing. I cannot find any MUTII on ebay. any idea where I could get it?

Thanks again.

For logging a Magna you need an OpenPort cable and the Evoscan (http://www.evoscan.com/) software. If you only want logging capability, get an OpenPort 1.3D cable. If you want to be able to flash your TH ECU, you will need an OpenPort 2.0 cable - more info about flashing in the thread linked in my sig.

Has anyone come up with a cheap Mut scanner similar to the OBD ones?

Is there hardware differences between OBD and Mut or is it just a protocol thing?
