Hi,

What do you all recommend for wiper blade replacements? The mechanic said I should replace them sometime soon, and it may also help with the condensation problem too I hope.

Is there anything specific I should look for?

Thanks!

Bosch OEM wipers blades are tough and long lasting, and IMO the best value, I got 3+ plus years from my last set, and I do 20k a year, and Qld is a tough environment, or Bosch Aerotwins (which are singles btw) if you have large amounts of cash to splurge.....

You can buy the 2 together in one pack as one blade is longer than the other. I buy whatever looks OK at the time and buy the blade and the holder as a set. Replacing just the insert can cause problems as they make them difficult to insert plus if they come loose you end up scratching the screen. I also use Rain X whenever going on a long trip as it gives you a crystal clear windscreen plus you don't need to use your wipers at speeds over 60K with this treatment.

Bosch Aerotwins. I've had mine for 6 months or more and they are as good as the day I put them on.

Yep, Aerotwins are the best you can get.

I've had mine on for nearly three years now, still working like new.

Well worth the extra cost over 'ordinary' wiper blades.

Have to agree. Mine have been on for about 12months.

I've hardly used them as I apply wax to my screen and the water beads off incredibly well, but when I do put them on their awesome, quiet no smearing little bit more expensive but well worth the money.

Goodyear Wiper blades (http://www.goodyearwiperblade.com/?mid=main) are excellent, almost identical to Bosch Aerotwins, only difference being the "cap" that goes over the clip does not fit so you just run capless. Half the price of aerotwins.

I got OEM natural rubber insert wiper blades (Which you can buy from autopro) and they are still lasting even after 2 years; lucky i guess. I think it is all about how much money you want to spend. The more money = more long lasting. I picked mine for $8 each insert and no more than 2 minutes to install assuming wiper arm is in good condition, not stuck or rusting.

Autobarn sell them.

Worth picking up a little bottle of RainX while you're there, and giving your windows a polish next time they're clean.

I have a set of the Bosch Aerotwins and love them. Pricey, but they work perfectly and last ages, which can't be said about the majority of wiper blades. I'm happy to spend the premium.

No new AMC group buy planned as far as I know, but you can get them from this fleabay seller
BOSCH AEROTWIN WIPER BLADE FALCON FG LEXUS IS250 IS350 ... (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BOSCH-AEROTWIN-WIPER-BLADE-FALCON-FG-LEXUS-IS250-IS350-TOYOTA-SOARER-MAGNA-TE-TW-/180832178599?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a1a7011a7) for $55 plus $15 delivery.
A bit more than the last AMC group buy where they were $52 a set plus $10 delivery for individual delivery and a bit less for group buy delivery.

So what are the real differences between Bosch Aerotwins and you're every cheapie Wipers? Because I can buy a set of Tridon wipers from SCA for a whole $15. Do aerotwins last 5x as long because for $75 I can buy 5 sets of wipers.....

the bosch aerotwins you still have to keep your windscreen tof them to work perfectly, but they are neat and streamlined looking, it replaces the whole arm from the centre hinge with a one-piece blade without all those clips and hinges along it that hold a refill, and unless you've left your car under a tree and everythings covered in dirt, leaves, and bird poo, it leaves a parfectly clear wiped patch without streaks or patchyness. I've had mine on since the group buy and they are still good.

Dunno about 5 times as long, but mine have been going strong for nearly 3 years now and they still perform like new, so maybe they will go 5 years.
And they perform better than 'ordinary' blades - better water removal, no judder & very quiet.

I had my first set of Aerotwins for 2.5 years. They still worked very effectively when I got rid of them. Still dead quiet and removed most of the water in each swipe. Only really got rid of them because I ended up with another set spare...

In all honesty, if your current wipers work well for you, I'm not sure if I'd bother getting the Aerotwins. Having said that, after having the Aerotwins, I could never go back. Most people who have got the Aerotwins are the same.
