Gday Guys. I am considering a bit of an exhaust system for my TN. The first thing i did was put a loud 3 inch section where the old stock muffler used to be just to get away from the stock sound not for performance. Since then i have leaned towards performance by adding extractors. I propose a Lukey 2.25 inch system with a Lukey sports exhaust and a centre resinator in line to get rid of the drone from the auto. The system will cost $265 fitted and i was wondering if anyone had reaped the benefits from such a mod. Thanks LLAMA.

The extractors should help gain a bit of power, and combined with a good intake and straight through exhaust, it should work well. Lukey is a good brand to go with aswell. :D

Yeah well ive got that minus the extractors, im just too lazy to buy some and get them installed, i dont know why, anyway ive got 2.25 from the catback with a lukey straight through and the car sounds better and has a little more go, but i cant notice it anymore, when i got it the first one or two days i could but hopefully when i get a good set of extractors and flexpipe to mate with my CC it should all work nicely, speaking of extractors, do you mean you have bought some or you are going to? i wanna know what brands of extractors you all have and prices, i think its time to get off my bum and get it done.

From what i have read, extractors do very little to the astrons for increasing power. your better off saving ur money for some other mod.

if u don't plan on bigger mods (turbo/supercharge/ BIG n/a power) i don't c the extractors doing too much cept for giving a slightly different noise  go for a hi-flow muffler and 2.25" mandrel bent piping from the cat back.

it's just alittle harder for the guys who have carb 1st gens since the cats are in the engine bay. if u get extractors u gotta buy another cat aswell to be welded in underneath the car in the piping. (i would recommend just getting a v6 holden or ford cat from the wreckers (aslong as it's not in too bad working order) and getting that welded in. cheap hi-flow cat :D hi-flow for a 4 cylinder car anyway

Ive already got the extractors in. They are wildcat and cost $70. It was very hard to find a set at all let alone some in good condition. Lucky thougth. As for the change in performance there was an obviouse increase in acceleration and DEFINATELY a change in sound. Surely it should perform considerably better with such a mod.

$70? geez... i spose they would b worth that much for the gains (gains are very little if not modded alot like i've said before). did u find them at the wreckers?
