I am in desperate need of a pic of a 3rd gen lowered 3 inch (75mm) all round.. i have used the search function numerous times and havnt come up with a good enough pic..
I'm ordering custom springs today and i need to know if 3 inch will be low enough for me. If possible does someone have one with a car on 18's??
I know these sort of questions are annoying but i dont want to blindly order expensive springs with no general idea of the height they will sit..

Thanks guys!!

Mate if you plan to drive this car as a daily and on most roads then dropping it 3" is nuts. You're going to be scrapping everywhere and completely wear out the bottom of your bumper, shockers and bump stops. Also keep in mind that your sump is on the lowest point on the underside of the engine bay as well. Even a 45mm drop is enough for most magna owners here to destroy their bumpstops and cause damage to the underside of their car. You need to have some suspension travel unless of course you're doing this to a showcar in which case it doesn't get driven much on the roads.

If you want the car to look good and to be practical then get coilovers because you can adjust the height. Kido racing make coilovers for magnas and members here have got them for as cheap as $900.

s|r b00st's TJ (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50429&highlight=) was around that height.

I'm +1 with thekovac on this though. That's a ****ing ridiculous height for springs - it'll ride terribly and bottom out constantly. I imagine you'd kill your shockies pretty quickly too.

If you want to go that low, go for coilovers.

My Verada was lowered 60mm all round and that was pretty impractical in some situations as it was. To go another 15mm would run you into a whole heap of troubles with scrubbing before you even worried about ground clearance. For an indication though, WollongongVerada's KE was pretty close to what you're talking about, his was about 70mm from memory.

^ that looks so awesome. I wish it was practical :(

I'm looking at doing mine soon with 18" rims and as much as I really want King Super Lows the consensus seems to be that they destroy the bump stops and ride quality, so King Lows will be the lowest these cars can go sensibly. Which is 30mm or something?

Superlows are alright, that's exactly what I had in my Verada and I'd do it again. You've got 3 options, King SP (30mm), King Low (45mm), King Superlow (60mm). Obviously give or take a little. If you hit a pretty sharp bump with SL's you will bottom out, but I found it pretty rare, the Geelong roads would get the better of it sometimes at 100km/h but that aside I never really bottomed the suspension out. The main issue was scraping the exhaust once I had the Redback system fitted, but that said I don't think it was ever fitted properly, so it wouldn't have surprised me if it was hanging low. Bare in mind with SL's you will be in breach of roadworthy ride height requirements, especially if you've got extractors fitted, mine were about 70mm clear.

I already have stock drop being VR-X suspension, which I think is 30mm. I'd go Superlow and just drive carefully (Since it would still clear speedbumps I'd hope) but my concern is they won't accomodate 18's very well? Are those 17's like I currently have or 18's in that pic?

Should be alright if you are on exec kit, otherwise no

Standard Verada kit on the GTV, so that should be okay for SL's with 18's for clearance?

Superlows are fine, hell, I could drive with superlows on my ralliart kit But that would be the limit.
Guy i know with a ralliart is dumped about 3 inches, tucks 20 on front and rear. He finds it fine to drive just need to know that some driveways you will need to park out the front of. Ofcoarse a ralliart kit is a little bit lower then yours though.

Anything superlow and lower you will need to be aware your car's bodykit will get damaged, no matter how you drive there is always an instance where you will hit it.

You've got to remember what our not so beloved roads are like over here in SA, Jakey....

Sports suspension is about 10-15mm lower. King Lows ended up dropping my VR-X 40mm.

Given you don't have a kit, I don't think Superlow height would be much of a problem. I wouldn't go lower than Lows on a bodykitted car though - I barely make it out of my driveway without scraping lol

For what it's worth, I ate through my bumpstops unknowingly, so I was driving around without bumpstops for a while. Even on Lows - and without passengers - it was pretty awful. I simply couldn't imagine having Superlows, given that they're lower AND softer... sounds like a recipe for disaster for me. Having said that, Queensland has utterly shithouse roads.

Thanks guys for the pics and opinions, I dont have the money for coilovers but i have bought brand new KYB shocks and will be getting custom set KMAC springs (which i didnt order today because im still not sure on height :( ) and it is a daily driver, but i have had much much much lower cars than this and have had very little problems, other than the occasional driveway, but trust me, anything is better than the springs/shocks in my car atm..

This pic is pretty much exactly what im after, and if thats 70mm which is not far off 3inch, i think i will be going with that.

And trust me if coilovers were an option i would get them..

I figured if my factory sports suspension is 15mm, Lows are 45mm and Super Lows are 60mm, by going Super Lows on front and Lows on rear I'd get a 45mm drop on the front and a 30mm drop on the rear, which I then put little bits of tape on the arches measured out, took a side on photo, photoshopped the car and voila, this is my expected ride height on 18's with Super Lows on front and Lows on rear:

that looks good.. but maybe slightly lower in the rear :)

That'd be the drop from King Lows, I'm not really prepared to go any lower back there, as they don't make suitable Superlows do they?
The body does tilt a little forward I noticed but the arches line up on the wheels on both ends with this setup.

You could go with lovells super lows. I have them on my car and they are mint. They are a little stiffer than kings too, which i like, as kings are too soft, and will make you more likely to bottom out. Not to mention you actually get super lows all round instead of lows on the rear.

Check out my ride thread to see lovells super lows height. Link in my sig.

Lovell Superlows are higher than Kings Superlows though, so then if I did that my front would be higher.
However what I could maybe do is Kings Superlows on the front and Lovell Superlows on the back. That would be badass... Boges shocks all round... achievable?

Upperkuts you should go this route too. 3 inches is insane, I'm sorta worried about the ride and bottoming out just with my proposition, I reckon this is about as low as anyone should be going. :P
