Yesterday my dad was driving my car. He got to the top of a hill and suddenly it just cut out. It started fine just after that though. Later in the night he was driving again, got halfway up a hill and it cut out again. Pushed it to the side of the road and it wouldn't start, it would turn over, didn't fire once and just wouldn't start, on petrol or LPG. So we left it there overnight.
This morning it started fine and has been driving fine all day so far, he said if anything it's running smoother.
Any idea what it could be?

Just did it again, on a flat, just before the hill. The only noticeable flaws are a hiss when it first starts up, we thought it was the LPG priming but we've never heard it before today. And a clicking sound coming from the driver's side foot well as it's turning over.

Checked the plug, nothing was wrong with it. We don't have any spare ECU's so we can't do much with that at the moment.
We've worked out that it happens when the car warms up. It'll drop dead when the temperature reaches it's usual max, about half-way on the gauge. And then wont start again until its cooled down completely, usually takes until the next morning.

could be a faulty coil
or the exciter near the coil
