Hey,
As with the magnas, the 380 wheel hub have the 'bolts' (proper name?) attached to them for the wheel to go onto.
While lowering my car on the weekend, I was 'cracking' the wheels nuts on my front left wheels (loosening before I jacked it up) and one didn't feel quite right. The wheel nut came off with 1.5 turns. I looked at the nut and the inside was wrecked (threaded). I got the wheel off and the 'bolt' on the wheel hub appears to have previous damage as well. Basically the threads are all fine, up until the last 2-4 where it has been threaded.
My questions:
- is it possible to get this fixed? Or would I need a new hub? Approximate costs, etc.
- I am now driving cautiously with four wheels nuts. Is this safe?
The car is booked in for a service with Mal Friday week. Am I safe to wait until then or do I need to get this sorted out now?
I don't want to make anything worse and have to pay more.
Cheers.
