I was fiddling with the cabin light and cigi/ash tray lights today, now the footwell lights, door lights, and cabin light won't come on, the central locking doesn't work, and I have to do the re-learn procedure every time I want to start the car. What have I done??

Oh and how many times has this been asked lol

Engine bay, yellow box in fuse box, lift up, remove fuse, replace and all fixed

I've blown this fuse so many times, it isn't funny anymore. I don't disconnect the battery unless I'm doing major electrical work (eg, removing dash) so If the wires touch or hit ground, boom. My footwell lights (I installed them) are tapped into the dome light, so they run from that. Therefor If I go and start screwing around with these and short the wire for long enough (usually 1 second will do it) it will blow the fuse and take the things you listed out.

It got to the point where I went down and bought a couple of packets of 10A fuses because I blew it so many times...

Yeah considering how subtle the whole thing was I'll probably go through a few more too

Yeah, you'll find that if you are the kind of person who just starts screwing around with wires etc, you'll blow a lot. Yes, you can get away with not isolating the battery but this is the price you pay :P
