The engine is cutting out when slowing down, and I've gotta drop it into neutral to start then engine, then I have to kick it into drive before it cuts out showing the battery light in the display.

OK, the symptoms:

a. When the car is coming up to a corner, intersection and round about, the engine cuts out

b. When I start the car in neutral its struggle and almost cut out, but it regains itself and remains in idle

c. Driving is fine, i can get the car up to whatever speed and its fine, I take my foot off the accelerator and it doesn't cut out until it gets down to about 20km a hour

d. When the car is cold and hasn't been driven for a day or so, it actually works ok for 5 minutes and doesn't cut out. But it seems the warmer the car gets the worse the cutting out is.

e. When the car is cold and working ok the Speed Limit Alert flashes on and off at the 60kph mark and makes a ticking noise when cutting in and out

Note: The day this started to occur, I'd noticed the radiator was out of coolant\water and the engine was heating up, but nothing had occurred, I stopped straight away and fixed the problem.

I dont believe it's the battery nor the alternator, but obviously something in the electronics.
Please help, my daughter has an operation this week and im going to need my car even though ive been happy catching the bus to work in the city.

Idle speed controller is not working. Give it a clean out or replace the unit with one from a wreck. It is located on the back of the engine to the right, next to the plenum body but you need to remove some things to get to it. Search it for some more detail
