TJ magna old 6 x 9 were 350 watt speaker blew so now got me some replacement 500 watt pioneers
Outsmarted myself as they do not fit the same spot as the old kenwoods
Soloutions without chopping the metal on the parcel shelf
Any other brand that just works?

I have fitted a few different 6x9 to a few different magnas and have not come across a set that didn't fit.

Why don't you try a pair of 6x9 spacers? Should provide extra clearance for the magnet.

Be wary of spacers, I got the smallest I could find which was 16mm and the speaker covers wouldn't fit back on properly. Tried a couple of nuts between the speakers and parcel shelf and it was just right.

you sure 500 watt will be enough?

Firstly lets all forget about 350w and 500w ratings on the speaker, you will never come close to actually running this much power through a 6x9, especially if you are running off the headunit because you will only be feeding the speaker 18-22wrms (RMS = Continuous power that a unit can provide/receive). The number one reason why speakers blow is because if you (for example) are feeding a speaker about 20-22wrms of power and decide you want to go louder, the signal will start "clipping", now this is where a clean signwave is no longer present because you are trying to drive the headunit/speakers beyond their limits. This can sometimes be audible with a loud thud that is out of place of the music. Generally speaking you speakers will be able to take continuous power of 60-100wrms, fitting an amp that will provide 60-150wrms would be ideal therefore theres less chance of the signal distorting and clipping, if its still not loud enough then you can look into getting a higher end pair of 6x9's (eg: Digital Designs, this brand makes excellent Amp and subs that will take/give a pounding, and their 6x9's are not made to a lesser quality).

As for fitment take your old ones out and go shopping for something with a similar basket?

Edit: Excuse my spelling.

I would imagine that if they don't fit then it wouldn't be by much. You should be able to nip/tuck somewhere without destroying everything.
