I want to replace my TJ handles with KW handles.
What's involved in replacing the exterior door handles? Is it hard to do? What happens with replacing the locks?

i've done my Ralliart ones with TW ones.
Bit tricky, especially the drivers door, but with some patience you will get there.

I told Mr Red Industrial disaster ship forum name, that I have done this several times and will be happy to help. We can do 3 cars when you get headlining and other faffing with car parts.

Pull off door cards, unhook rods connected to them, undo the 2 10 mm bolts. Glass needs to be moved around to get to them, door locks on rear need to come out or at least undone to move them about so you can get to one of the 10 mm bolts. If it has electric windows disconnect the glass from the slider and take it out of the door. More 10 mm bolts. Ease the handle out through the outside. Easy as - but only if you have done them before. Some head scratching involved otherwise.
Door locks may be swappable between the two sets.

I've done mine, but had a spare KH set resprayed so I could maintain the key hole on the passenger side.
The TL/KL ones do not have a keyhole on the passenger side.

I have done this on 2 Magna's so far & have not yet needed to remove any glass or moved door locks on the rear doors. All I used was a 10mm socket & a 10mm ratchet spanner.
Lots of patience & a few cuts on my hands. Easier if you have smaller hands than me!

Or you can do what i did and use a second rear handle onto the drivers door and have no door locks at all !!

So you have done this Max, clearly not
Red, offer is still there to give me a bell but in summary, assuming trims have been removed
Front doors, carefully pull back plastic, window up, disc the c clip from the lock barrel on the drivers sider and push out from outside of the door, will flop inside the door out of the way. remove the 3 10mm head bolts NOT 2 and the handle will be loose. Next step you can either remove the release rod while inside the door or you can gently pull the handle out a little so you can see how the clip works and release from outside.
On the LHS door I remove the latch assy and then remove the lock rod all together, this is easy enough, take off plastic shield and swing the rod 90 deg, will simply come off. This saves the rod rattling around inside the door.
Rear doors are a little more tricky, personally I disc the release rod and take out the latch as is only 3 screws and the rods to the inner handle plus the locking connection, gives much more room to work and less blood lost. You can squeeze up into the back of the handle to get to the last bolt but is a PITA
And look, shock and horror, glass did not get touched
