Hi Guys, need some advice from the experts. I have a 92 Tr magna with 192000kms that just blew a head gasket, pretty sure the water pump is gone as it was making a rattling sound earlier and is what caused the head gasket to blow.
Just wanted to know if you guys think there is anything else I should do while I have the hood open. Other than regular services the car hasnt had anything done under the hood, my Mum had the car from new and didnt do alot of kms. I have put 92000kms on it in the last 2 years and it has served me well.

Its an efi engine and Im in Keilor Downs. Thanks for the advice.
It's fairly common for the valve stem seals to go in second gen engines, whilst the head is off, have your head guy replace the seals, they should be part of your VRS kit.
Whilst its apart I'd suggest doing a decent service too - plugs, leads, rotor, and cap.

port n polish, 380 cams, pajero pistons, twin screw supercharger only if funds can go that far?
Nah make sure you get the oil pump chain checked out too as they are common to let go with age.

If you are feeling adventurous, buy another motor from a wreckers, rework that and swap them over. Head work (regrind valves, new seals, shave), new gaskets and chains, bearings, rings, rebore, crank grind etc.
Alternatively, junk the 20 year old car and buy something fresher. For the money you would spend doing up a TR engine, you can probably pick up a third gen.
