Hi all, I'm having trouble with my heater - I think ?. I've been smelling something like a burning / steam / coolant type smell for a few months. My mechanic has said it lookes like a heater core gone bung or a in - out hose is leaking.
I use the car for my work and do a fair few miles in it. (2002 Magna Solara) and when I take the car for a short trip I stopthe car and when I return there is steam on the inside of the windscreen.
Anyone ever had this problem or what is the money involved in getting to and changing th heater ?
Thanks heaps if anyone can help

Sounds like the heater core is gone. Check on the passenger side carpet for coolant. If there is coolant there then it is a dash out job to fix it. Massive muck around.

My neighbour had the same problem with his KJ Verada. He took it to the Mitsubishi dealer where he gets it serviced. Dealer told him the heater core was the cause and quoted $1,200 to replace.
