So, I have a 1997 TF Magna Executive, Non-ABS.
I have a set of front ventilated discs and brake pads, brand new, for a 1997 KF Verada Ei which I presume would have ABS.
According to ACDelco, the rotors should be compatible between cars. Both have a front disc part number of ACDR425. The brake pads may not be according to Bosch, but as the rotors make up the bulk of the cost, i'm not overly worried about having to buy another set of brake pads. However if i'm incorrect and the pads can also be used, I certainly wouldn't complain.
So, provided I have the right sets of parts here, what's involved in changing the brake rotors and pads on a 1997 TF Magna Executive? I know typically you remove the wheel, remove two bolts from the rear of the caliper, lift the caliper out of the way and the rotor should come off from there. Snap out the old set of brake pads and snap in a new set while the caliper is off. However I want to make sure i'm not going to hit any Mitsubishi/Magna specific differences or anything special I need to know before I dive in there.
In addition, I will be purchasing tools to do this job so if anyone could provide me with details of whether the bolts are Hex/Allen Key or a standard Socket size bolt head (to ensure i'm purchasing the right tools the first time), that would be excellent.
Cheers.
