Hey guys just got my new KJ series 2 GTVi today and with closer inspection i have failed to find an accessory socket anywhere, was that an option back in the day when they first came out? if so how easy is an aftermarket one too install?

Um not that i can see there isnt one, i had a look in the manual and it said where fitted which make me there think, it lacks one

The GTV/GTVi cars did not (unlike the XI Verada's) get an accessory socket, if the Sat Nav was fitted.

Xi Verada's have a socket in the coin holder, under the lid behind the gear stick. You are able to buy that socket coin holder thing, and simply add the wires. The wiring for the normal ash tray is present in the GTV/GTVi cars, but not used.

The reason is the GTV is based on Verada EI wiring, not the XI.

Thanks alot for the info, its a bit of a pain that it doesn't have one, but i can live with out till i get it installed

My advice would be, to take out the Nav, look for a bulb holder, a white plug and a black plug, they are the power sockets for the 12v socket and the ash tray light that is where your nav screen is normally. The power socket in the Verada XI cars, uses the same white and black plugs. Buy a XI verada coin holder with socket (it simply clips into the console), and extend the wires to the console. Very easy job.

That is a KL/KW thing only KJ GTV (and GTVi with optional sat nav) went without one all together.
