Hey all just wondering if anyone with a tp sedan has any decent audio setups in their boot, at the moment got an amp racked up under the parcel shelf, looking at putting in 2 6x9 pioneers behind the rear wheels or do i make up something to house them and a sub to sit across the length of the parcel shelf? or just leave it as is with 2 kenwoods inside on the parcel shelf, 2 pioneers on the front doors and jvc head unit...anyone have any pics or ideas of a custom installation for the tp sedan boot? cheers

how flash are u willing to go with the system? like are u wanting a semi show spec system or a bodgie "itlldo" job?

well at the moment its pretty much a bodgie job, would like to see the space in the boot a bit more user friendly so to speak, such as leaving the opening going through the body into the back seat area so i can sit in the back and reach through to control the amp etc, but still putting in a sub or 2 and 6x9's. as much as would rather not use up the whole boot space, having something decent to show would be sweet. if it means taking the amp out from under the parcel shelf than there is no worries with doing that.

as best i can really do some quick simple ideas...

single 6x9 either side ( the silver looking part would be a consideration of mirror finished housings )

as with keeping space in the boot where the hole goes through to the seat, but using the space either side..

or 3rd speak/sub option am thinking is like this

as with the housings/floor debating which would look better, all mdf with stick on mirror squares or just the housings done that way and the floor done with same stuff i used for the door trims and parcel shelf as follows, or floor and housings using the following...

really not sure what to go with, have 3 single blue lights/neons to go in somewhere when or if i get something done up and finished. and not sure about the amp yet, wether to leave it up under the parcel shelf, or incase it in the floor or the side or the back...hence am asking for tips ideas suggestions etc....am pretty indecisive :hmm:

Its a fine balancing act between keeping it practical and sounding awesome. If you can find a way to get the subs into the corners, leaving yourself a boot then that would be ideal. The main reason why I don't have a pair of subs and a fat amp in my car is beccause I have a huge tool box and 2 storage crates in there.

True, it will be bit of a challenge what ever i go with, keeping the looks up, but leaving enough space, but i think i might have the problem solvered space saving, but still looking half descent ( i hope so anyway )

basic idea using mdf

using mdf but covering it with same pyramid pvc matting as mentioned above

and finally mirrored finish ( rather actual mirrors, or just stick on cheapo mirror tiles )

on the final ones those blue strips being neons, maybe the top would not be necessary :hmm:

Been playing around with some ideas, settled on a floating floor, have some spare mdf and carpet and all that. So best i can explain it is have done the far section of the floor first using mdf, then painted it white, then carved the mitsubishi logo out of the carpet, so that it looks white ( will grab some pics later ), today am working on the 2nd piece, going to size up some mdf again and curve it so it covers the wells behind the wheel arches, then using some hinges will adapt it onto the inner section so that it folds up and i can " lock it " in the up position if i need to get the wheel out ( decided with the roads up here, having the spare is probably for the best ), paint both sides of the back section, then once that's down, am going to put some rubber spacers/blocks ( 6 equal sized blocks ) and attach them to the underside of the floating floor, then put a handle on the outside of the final floor piece ( so can easily open up the floor to get at the wheel etc ). then with the carpet for that, tossing up between the mitsy logo or just wording. going towards the wording, as already have 3 mitsy logos on the inner section. have not stuck the carpet down yet, but will grab a photo anyways. then from there, will work out the speakers etc. thinking leaving the amp where it is or mounting it in one of the wheel wells ( behind the wheel in the boot ), and with the speakers, rather in the inner pice of floor, or the far back. will see how i go.
