View Full Version : Fog Light Protectors

I've never been a fan of headlight/bonnet protectors etc.

However, recently I found both fog lights were smashed; not surprising when my car has done 180K and they are in the first line of fire.

But what did leave me gasping is the price of replacement - $633 Good Aussie Hard Currency Dollars in the world of international soft money.

So, today I picked up a set of GENUINE MITSI fog light protectors which I was advised, was the LAST set. They look pretty good when fitted.

Anyone who is going to keep their SX/VRX/GT for some time I suggest finding some on e-bay.

Happy to post pics if anyone wants.

I used these on both my driving lights and also the fog lights. I ,oulded the shpe of the fog lamps with a hair dryer before fitting and have not had them smash yet They claim that they are thick enough to repel rocks and breaks which i have proven over n&25K on interstate drives hhttp://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-store/products/Altrex-Light-Skinz-Cars-4WD-Suit-Polycarbonate-Headlights.aspx?pid=123000&menuFrom=2019#Description

I can do brand new fog lights, are not genuine but damn close for $79 each, I have these in my 380 at the moment as I sold my genuine ones (uesd Genuine will fetch more than new aftermarket ones from the insurance companies etc)

Got pics of the genuine vs after market ones Mal? Much difference between the two and will the genuine fog light covers fit on the non genuine after market fog lamps?

Cheers

Will get some pics up shortly, externally they look pretty much identical, only difference I have seen is how the seal for the globe works, other than that the globe is still the same

Ok cheers Mal, after reading this thread it reminded me that Mitsu still owe me a fog light under warranty as at some stage water has found it's way inside and left an ugly rust stain inside and they were notified about it before warranty expired. Only catch is the service guy I used to see had been shifted within the company to Subaru so I'll speak to him and hopefully he can get me that one free and I'll replace the other so they both look new.

Ok so they're not a bubble but a clear lens over the whole light? Bit hard to see what I'm looking at there ...

Clear lens - correct. That's the Mitsi product. Whether these are obtainable OS....?
