Hey guys
I was looking at getting a better rear muffler for my 96 te , stock one is so quiet and restrictive(plus has rust underneath it). Im a cheap bastard atm cause of uni. There is a pretty big wreckers down the road from me and there are some vrx and ralli art wrecks in good nick. If i took the rear muffler of one of them or other exhaust parts/components would it be a improvement over my stock muffer?? eg. sound/performance.
what other things should i be looking for to scavenge from the exhaust system?
Cheers

Cut the rear muffler off with a hacksaw. Flog the steel for a few bucks. Enjoy noise :D

In all seriousness. A vr-x or ralliart rear muffler will be a good upgrade, but you would be better off taking everything from the headers back, that would be a real improvement. Just get any holes spot welded before you put it on and you will be sweet. A wrecker should only charge a couple of hundred for a ralliart exhaust system and you would get plenty out of it.

cheapest scenario get the rear muffler off the ralliart, from the last flange back, should bolt right on (unless the ralliartrs had the larger diameter pipe and flange like my JDM) but the headers on the ralliart are are great upgrade, work the wrecker cost easy

Just cut the rear muffler off and weld some pipe out the back.

Was gonna do that with the manual ralliart for the sound but never got around to it.
