So guys, i was just thinking.
You know how you can swap later Evo (7/8/9) brakes onto an S14 with minimal modifications, right?

Does this mean that you could run S14 front brakes for a cheap upgrade?
4pot, 280mm for under $400 with cheap rotors and pads.

To fit Evo brakes to an S14 you need to make an adapter for the mounting points (S14 being 12cm apart) and mess with the master cylinder, would you just reverse the process for a magna and run new lines?

I'd presume so but if you buy from ebay.co.uk you can get EVO 9 front brakes for $400 + delivery and it's a direct bolt on. Seems less hassle and more gain and then you can say, step back bro, he's got brembos. Shit just got real.

Well S14 front brakes including pads and rotors can be had for around $200-300 depending on condition. And then when you go to replace the rotors and pads, they're cheap as chips.
As far as i can see, front brembos are about 400 quid and then you have to get them shipped here, and then when you go to replace the rotors and pads you end up spending big money.

Just thinking that maybe they'd be a good, cheap mod if it's not hard to make them fit.

You don't have to get GENUINE EVO disks or BREMBO pads :P

Any half decent new set of disks and pads for Brembos is going to run way over a grand.

I've thought about it before, the adapter applies to S13s as well. Logically I can't see why it wouldn't work.

Brembo pads aren't that great anyway. As soon as mine are through i'm going for DS2500s

Sure, the calipers are different but the pad material would be the same surely?

k.

For fronts alone I don't think you need to spend much more then $700, I picked up my full set of brembos with lines and pads for $650 to my door, then your looking at $300 for the front rotors

You can always find deals like that, I got a full set of fronts with good pads and rotors for around the same price but if I were to replace everything it'd be an expensive exercise lol.

Either that or lurk Evo OZ and try and get a second hand set of everything you need.
