How did everyone fit their tweeters into their original tweeter mounts?
I'm having dramas trying to fit my Soundstream tweeters in there.

in my KF, i used the stock ones in the dash, pulled out the old ones, redrilled holes for the new ones and screwed them in
clipped back into the dash and hooked it up to x-over

My Alpine tweeters fit fine, bit tight, but they fit.
Mine are type R so they are pretty hefty in size.

My alpine type S tweeters fit ok, they don't lock in or anythung so i just pushed to force them into a position then quickly put the plastic back on before they fell out lol.

Soooooo, you bought some splits and the tweeters didn't fit, so you bought more splits... What was the question ...
I was going to start a thread about speakers the had tweeter that fit in the Vereda (sail/triange/door) pods..
Any wider than 32mm wont fit toward the grill end.
Deep : 21mm if you want to use the tweeter mount bracket, deeper (probably another 12mm if you dont use the bracket....
Any 32mm tweeter that that cant be removed from the plastic mount supplied probably wont fit, unless you you mount it back a bit, but thats less than Ideal.
25mm tweeters that come in a cup mount, with a small surround probably will..
Best bring the sail with you when you speaker shopping...

My Alpine Type R tweeters fit fine.
They're held in with blue tac. Sounds ghetto, but it's held them in perfectly, and it's a cinch to remove them if need be.

Mate I dunno if you've ended up sorting this out or not but when Ampl Audio did my Morel Maximo tweeters, they hot glued the sides of the tweeter into the pod. Held absolutely perfect, and angled towards the seats well too.

Hot glue? Worked sweet for me, ripped them out so no pic but not a lot to see, they just put them in as far as they would go so there was contact to the sides then hot glued between and it set with them facing the middle of the seats. Worked a treat.

I was lucky enough to have a screw hole in the back of the tweeter...
Car Glue Tack, the sticky stuff of the back off sound deadening, will work well, you should be to stick them on the back of the tweeter mount too.
And stop any rattles around the console, holds wires down, holds Badges, LEDS you name it.
Oh I have a use of any old tweeters that you might have lying around, that fit in the sails of course..

lol mine are blu-tacked to the tweeter pods too.. only way i could get them to fit! mine are from a Polk Audio 6.5" splits set, fills up virtually the whole pod
