:oopssign: My boot lid now as you can guess, wont stay up without a prop. This is a real horses arse, is it possible to change the torsion spring over from a wreck??
Or maybe fit gas struts instead?? either way, I have to do something, this is just not acceptable, well not for me :ninja:.

get one from a wreck, easy to do,make sure you get the right one for your boot as the factory spoiler boots had thicker springs and fit these and you will smack ya face when you pop the boot

Thanks Mike, wasn't sure if it was going to be a huge arse puzzle to get it out and back in again.

Please do a DIY for this as I would like to upgrade the spring in my heavy sound deadened bootlid.

Hey mcs_xi, I jsut got myself some replacement springs from local U Pull It here and it was very simple. The springs are in two pieces one for each side, and they cross over to the other side. I removed them by hand and I expect to fit them by hand just as simply. However, if you are fitting the heavier springs I would think you will get more resistance as you try to fit them. I will post some pictures of the springs out of the car so you can see what I mean by two pieces when I actually get around to putting them in. Easter has ruined my work weekend :(
