How would one go about fixing a resonably sized split in a front VRX bumperbar? The bar is still strucually sound. Also one of the flares is snapped off completly, i have the other piece and it slots straight back in, what glue would i use? I was thinking epoxy but thought i'd ask beforehand.

Fibreglass mat and resin from the back, fill cracks, repaint.

You could use epoxy, but to strengthen the joint, don't just glue on the break, use thin sheet metal and glue a strengthening patch on the back with the epoxy.

is it on the actual bumpa bar or the vrx extention piece. The extension piece is a rubber substance and i don't think fibreglass will stick to it very well. AS for the flare you could have it plastic welded back together.

plastic welded, then wax and grease remover + rough sandpaper on the back and strengthened with fiberglass matt and epoxy resin. Epoxy will stick better to more things than polyester will.

I cracked my VR-X extension piece (whoops!) a few years ago. Panel beater fibreglassed it from behind, filled in the front, and repainted. This was nearly four years ago and it's stuck up well - from the front you can't tell it's been repaired.

As already said Fiberglass the back of it, a polyester resin would probably work better than an epoxy resin, then when it comes to filling the front even if there isnt much movement get a polyester flexible filler instead of ordinary body filler.

Once its filled sand it back with some 80grit, hit it with some spray putty and then work through the grades of 240-800grit, then then you can use a primer, then glaze and paint.
