Hey guys,

Recently bought a magna TJ off a mate who accidentely cross wired the battery when trying to jump start, and it seems a bunch of things went wrong. I just replaced the battery, so the car starts/runs fine, but there are quite a few things not working properly.
-Electric windows not responding at all, attempted changing the window motor, no good.
-Tachometer not working, but lights up.
-aircon/heater not responding.
-CD player not responding(pretty sure it's fried).

The fuses don't seem blown at all, but I could be wrong. Could somebody enlighten me on something that could be causing these electrical problems? Also, could someone enlighten me on how to take the rear bumper off, it has a bump I want to knock out and respray.

Thanks guys

could be fuses there are some under the bonnet and some under the dash check them all. The rear bar has a line of bolts on each side of the boot inside behind the trim pieces and 4 bolts underneath the car either side of the spare tyre well.

could have also melted some of the wiring depending how long the battery was left connected.

Oh, I guess checking fuses by eye isn't the best way. Are fuses cheap? Would it be worth just trying to replace them? Sorry guys, pretty new to this stuff. I don't have a test light either. How do you get to the fuses under the dash? All I know in regards to fuses are the ones in the fuse box under the bonnet.

The fuses are under your drivers side on the right. There is a small black box there, the lid comes off easily. Also a white fuse picker there to make life real easy. Fuses are dirt cheap. You can get a random assortment at an auto store for about 3 bucks for 10. A test light is a really good way to check but by eye is pretty accurate.

I can come round to Liverpool tomorrow to help you out if you need a hand with it. It's tricky for a beginner and I have a bunch of fuses you can use.

An unfortunate welcoming question i must say! Definitely would be checking all fuses and the wiring as people have stated above. Getting a workshop manual would most likely help you with all the wiring locations and fuses if a member doesn't have time to drop around and take a look. very handy way to learn if you want to re-wire lights etc in the future anyway =)
