How is everyone?

The power button / volume dial on our car is acting funny. It powers on and off properly when pressed, but when trying to adjust the volume it either doesn't recognize us turning the knob or it make its louder when we want it softer and vice versa.

Does anyone know what's up with this and how we can fix it?

Sounds like the POT (variable potentiometer) is dirty or cactus, if you manage to get some contact cleaner, Blue CRC, in there, it might come good, dont use the red stuff, it might work for a month but it will well and truly root it.

I should also mention that if you press in gently while turning, it is more effective. Any ideas?

I ended up replacing my head unit because of a similar problem. Volume would work only sometimes. For a while pushing up on it from the bottom would work. But only sometimes. When I almost hit the car in front of me while trying to get it to work I thought 'that's it'. I drove straight to JB and got them to fit a nice Alpine unit. A wise choice I think.
