Hi all. I am looking at buying a new head unit with inbuilt bluetooth but have heard there are connection issues with the iphone (I have an iphone 4). From what i have read, there are issues with automatic connection on power up of the unit as well as sound quality issues. I really only want it to use the bluetooth as a phone and not so much for audio streaming. I definately dont want to have to connect it manually as i am in and out of the car regulaly. Thoughts and headunit suggestions would be appreciated.

I've used the 3 iPhones I've owned on Pioneer, Alpine and Kenwood units with no issues, as well as factory Toyota, Holden, Ford and Mercedes systems to reasonable extent with no displayed issues. A couple of years ago when we got the first of our bluetooth equipped Toyotas I had an issue with A2DP streaming having a high pitched squealing noise when you turned the volume up, that was a fault with the head unit though as was fixed in a later revision.

I've got a Clarion NX501A with no issues with the iPhone 4. Factory Bluetooth also had no issues.
