i recently had to get a new mirror after someone knocked it off

rather than getting second hand i bought a brand new mirror

after i got this and installed it,any speed over 50 and it starts to whistle

any advice on why???????????

It is because of their deisgn being very aerodynamically significant. You will find it is because the black part of the mirror surounding the glass is slightly misaligned. Unfortunately they are glued to the coloured shell, so you need to do an 'adjustment' by placing a small piece of tape in the 2mm wide gap. you will find this will fix the whistle.

In my case, I did this with my factory mirror on the drivers side until I bought a JDM mirror which is very different and silent!

wat about some super glue instead??

It is not a matter of the mirror coming apart, it is the black part of the mirror surround just being very slightly out. So people run some tape (black of course) to increase the thickness of the black part at the top, and this seems to cure the whistle. The mirror cannot come apart, so glue wont help you.
