Alright guys, here's my dilemma.

My kl Verada was purchased with 130k (now 132k).

Has full service history which shows that the timing belt should be done at 75k or 60 months, which ever comes 1st. The 75k was done 9/2009 and it's all ticked off.

My question is, it doesn't reflect that the belts were changed then, I assume they were and it asks for the next change at 150k.

Are there different intervals for these models because I was always under the assumption it was 100k, my kj2 book says 100k.

Why does the kl have to be done 25k earlier?

Cheers Pete

My service book (not the original) shows "Reprinted September 2004" which would have been just before the TW/KW was released. It says to replace the timing belt at 100000 km/60 mths - and yet I'm almost certain I've seen 90000/60 mths in a TL book. Never heard of a 75000 interval before.
Last time I looked at the Gates catalogue they showed a 60000 mile (96600 km) interval with no time limit.

Timing belt is 100k or 60 months, I think you may be looking at the wrong item in the book as the KL book I have here also states 100k or 60 months

Has full service history . . . . . it doesn't reflect that the belts were changed

Full service history, but no mention of the cam belt being changed?
It's an expensive service, should be obvious if it has been done if it has a "full service history."
I'd assume it hasn't been done.

It is 100,000 km or 5 years, whichever is first. Usually part of the 95 or 105 thousand Km service, not the 75.

Contact the servicing mechanic to see if he has records for the car. Otherwise, do the belt change soonish.

The service book for my KL/TL (reprinted Feb 2004) says to replace engine timing belt(s) at 75000km or 60 month service. When I queried the PO whether the belt had been changed he obtained the original docket from Ultratune.

I wonder if there was a misprint in the Feb 2004 book - would OZVERADA or hako please clarify where they see 75000 km?
In my book the timing belt is listed for replacment every 100000 km on the chart under "Under Hood Operations" (p15). It is mentioned again on the page listing the "90000 km Regular Service" items (p32) as a note that it is due at 100000 km. Then on p33 the timing belt is listed along with platinum spark plugs under "100000 km Replacement Items" with provision for the dealer's stamp.

I see the confusion...it's all in the small print!.....in the Feb 2004 book, on page 30, the page is split into 2 - left hand side is 75000km regular service, whilst the right hand side says "60 month service" and says "As per 75,000km service with the following addition: Replace timing belt(s)
Then on page 33 under "100,000km replacement items" it says Replace timing belt(s) (dealer to quote) and Replace platinum and surface discharge plugs (dealer to quote).

So it all depends on how to comprehend or understand the service and warranty book. Critics may say that it is as plain as day, but as a Philadelpia lawyer would say, it's all in the interpretation. (or is that what the actress said to the Bishop?)

Well, it's all good :)

After thoroughly going through the book and ringing the previous service centre I can see that it is 100klms and that mine was done at 107klms, happy chappy
