currently i got given a small 12v cooler like the one below

i then developed a idea to take the housing off and attatch it to the box within the center console and connect it to a power source that turns on when the key is turned to ACC(eg.cigarette lighter port) and mount a switch so i can turn it on when i want

has anyone done anything like this??????

Nope.
These boxes need a lot of cooling air to flow, otherwise they don't work efficiently. Mount it in or on the centre box and someone will get a blast of warm air.
Also, it is no longer portable, if you decide to drive a different car. Just stick it behind the passenger seat.

i only have one car and i use it alot and if i cut a panel out in the center console for the fan to stick out im sure it will get cool

thing keeps drinks cold even from on the floor behind the driver's seat

I say do it. Just keep it neat and you can make it look nice and stock. Cool mod.
